    Happy Here-Comes-September, EveryBODY!

There’s too much happening next week!  The calendar is crammed with events from wooden boats to live music to a community garage sale.  Take a look right here:  weekly events Sept 1-8.pdf

And TRAILS will be leading Thriving Thursday at Bay Ridge Ranch on September 6, so come and see what the horses have to say!  If the weather's too rainy, the presentation will be at SVT and you can see the horses some other time.

And since I'm sending the calendar out a day early because tomorrow will be too busy, I'll let you know a couple of things going on today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday).

Tonight (August 30), the Kachemak Bay Wooden Boat Society is presenting a guest speaker at Islands and Ocean Visitor Center from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  (This is a free event.)  The speaker is Iris Nawiesniak, from the Office of Boating Safety at the Alaska Department of Natural Resources.  Iris will talk about safety on the water and show a movie "Around Cape Horn" that includes exciting scenes during a wild storm as the ship rounds the feared Cape Horn!

Tomorrow night (August 31)TRAILS is holding a potluck weenie roast around the fire at Bishop's Beach pavilion starting around 5:00 pm.  Come and celebrate a beautiful August evening--the last of the year--and say hi to folks visiting from Seward.  Bring a dish to share and/or a friend!
