Person Centered Intake (PCI)

The process of discovering what options for long term services and supports are available can be overwhelming for everyone. ADRC staff will talk with individuals and take them through a structured conversation to identify areas of strengths, personal desires and needs to identify potential options. This is called Options Counseling and options vary by community and by individual.

If an individual is interested in a Medicaid Waiver either the Alaskan’s Living Independently (ALI) or Adults with Physical and Development Disabilities (APDD) Medicaid Waiver they must first have a Person Centered Intake (PCI) with ADRC staff. ADRC staff explain the steps necessary to apply for a Medicaid waiver, and offer a list of agencies and care coordinators that will assist with completing the application. If you think a Medicaid Waiver might be right for you or a loved one, or if you need more information about options available in your community, please contact ILC and schedule a time to meet with ADRC staff.

The Independent Living Center offers ADRC services to individuals living in Kenai Peninsula communities, Valdez/Cordova Census Area communities and Kodiak Island.
