Another busy week coming up, topped off by the Homer Winter Carnival Parade next Saturday (February 8); see the poster below.
And if you're a football fan, you can watch the Super Bowl for FREE at the Homer Theater this Sunday, starting at 2:30. (I'm such a huge 49er fan that I don't know if I can stand the stress of actually watching the game! Go 9ers!)
And you'll find a free concert, some interesting talks, a movie (Friday at I&O), and more this week, so check out the calendar right here: weekly events February 1-8 with DAS_flyer.pdf
Finally, page 2 of the calendar is the flyer for the Disability Art Show that TRAILS is organizing for March at Homer Council on the Arts. I want to see ALL of you submit something to this community art show fundraiser. AnyBODY can submit art that's related to the theme of disability. If you have a disability, ANYTHING goes; if you don't--then create art that shares thoughts or feelings about disability--maybe someone you know or love deals with a disability. (I'm tempted to do something honoring my blind horse--he's such a solid guy and the best trail horse I have! What a friend!) Submissions are due March 2 (along with a bit about yourself and your art piece), so you have a whole month to be creative! If you have questions about the art show, call me!
